FORT ERIE, Canada (CMC):

Two-time reigning champion Christopher Husbands and experienced Trinidadian rider Steve Jadoo shared honours at Fort Erie on Tuesday when they both logged braces on the seven-race card.

Barbadian Husbands, 32, won with favourite NIKOLAOU in race one over a mile and 70 yards before returning to capture race three over a mile and sixteenth with another favourite, MORE SAVVY.

Not to be left out, the 30-year-old Jadoo scored in race five over six furlongs with 8-1 choice CRAFTY CONQUEST and followed that up with victory aboard 3-1 chance JIBARO in a five-and-a-half-furlong sprint in race six.

Husbands moved to 22 wins for the season to stretch his lead at the top of the standings, eight clear of Jamaican Kirk Johnson and Pierre Mailhot.

Jadoo has made only six starts for the season, winning three times.

Husbands opened his account when he steered five-year-old chestnut gelding NIKOLAOU to a comfortable one-and-a-half-length victory over the three-year-olds and upward after stalking the pacesetter GRAND GIZMO and producing a superb stretch run.

His second win was dominant, making all the running with five-year-old bay mare MORE SAVVY to stun the three-year-old and upward fillies and mares by six lengths.

Jadoo was successful in his first outing of the afternoon, stalking aboard six-year-old gelding CRAFTY CONQUEST before heading pacesetter SUMMER RETREAT at the top of the stretch and running on to reach the wire one and a quarter lengths clear.

He wasted little time reaching the winners' circle again, partnering with four-year-old gelding JIBARO to edge the three-year-olds and upward by a neck in a gate-to-wire effort.
